'Clan' Pacific 72010 'Hengist' powers towards us out of the haze separating yesterday from today. From cancelled concept to ongoing reality, 57 years after cancellation by B.R, steady progress is being made on this journey taking us over the bridge to tomorrow and the future.

Bid for the 1,000th B.R. Standard!

This magnificent painting has been donated to the Standard Steam Locomotive Company Ltd. to help raise funds for the locomotive frames which have already been manufactured, together with many of the associated components.

The painting measures appox, 22ins x 18ins (59cm x 46cm) and is oil on canvas.

The work is by artist Julie West, who is a full member of the Guild of Railway Artists.

To view the original visit the Bristol Model Engineering and Hobbies Exhibition at the Thornbury Leisure Centre, Thornbury, near Bristol. BS35 3JB. The dates being 21st, 22nd and the 23rd August 2009.
